AW2010//uncommon creatures

The debut collection from the Copenhagen-based Uncommon Creatures is so wicked! It’s simple male clothes with an avant-garde twist. The inspiration source was a meeting with a young Orthodox Jew in the subway in Brooklyn. This is clearly seen in the collection by the big shaded hat, the long hair and the cross. And them being Danish – not bad!

En ufattelig cool simpel silhouette med et avant-gardisk-feeling er hvad det københavn-baserede mærke Uncommon Creatures har skabt. Inspirationen kommer fra et møde med en ung ortodoks mand, der med hans krøller og store hat, satte gang i tegneprocessen for de to designere Christina Højris Ottosen og Jens Kold-Christensen. Über-cool!!

Acne-spam anno 2008

Som I nok kan regne ud, er både Cecilie og jeg helt skudt i Acne’s design. Skoene jeg har tegnet ring om fandt jeg et billede af for omkring et år siden, og jeg synes simpelthen de er nogle af de mest cool og nice platform/wedges jeg har set. Jeg kan bruge timer på at sidde og lede efter dem på outlet sider som sælger Acne, Ebay, Trendsales osv. – men jeg har endnu ikke været heldig. Dog er de andre sko fra 2008 kollektionen også total cool og ville ikke have noget i mod et af de andre par!

I’m quite overwhelmed by all the cool collections I’ve seen for the Fall/Autumn 2010. Of cause ACNE’s collection stands out among all the others. I think the collection contains a lot of the elements you see in other collections – the metal, the spacey-alian-details, the fur, the leather, the brown earthy tones..well I’m thrilled!
