Luckily this series of amazing artwork came to our attention.

It is created by the talented Tilde Bay Kristoffersen, who’s taking her MA in fashion design at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Design in Copenhagen. She closely picked a troop of gifted people to help her creating this thrill for our eyes – because as she says “It allows for more intensity and clearer communication”. 

With a background of having done internships for Moonspoon Saloon, Alexander McQueen and H&M, she understands to express her vision and be true to the fact that her work, with it’s visual fulfillment, lands in many categories counting art, graphics, scenography and styling.

The total layout is so much in the same spirit of us and what we like to do here on Highly Dazed. Tilde and her crew put the traditional up against the kind of future-like-elements. Seen in both the graphics with the image-layering against the old garden in black/white and the clothes with the see-through-fabric combined with the geometrical shapes against the old fashioned embroidery. 

We are thrilled by execution of this project and we cannot wait to see more.

Norwegian Veronica B. Vallenes has been caught by the fuzz and with a good reason. Her very feminine and classic design is definately something to talk about, becuase she has this minimalistik and scandinavian take on womans clothing.

The show was held in a very beautiful room at hotel Nimb, a very well choosen location that matched the simple mood in the collection. Silky tunikas, shorts, delicate materials and sexy yet understated dresses is what best can describe the collection. On the other side of the spectrum is the color palette which mostly was light and minty, but also black and clear blue. What also caught my attention and definately also gave me the fashion tingles was the amazing jewelley by Bjørg. They simply gave the collection this last twist that made it all very wonderful.

We were both pretty excited, when we arranged ourselves in a good spot at the Soulland SS12 show. It was our first menswear show and the atmosphere in the Post Denmark court was joyous. Silas Adler had just launched a new stamp for Post Danmark and we found that, not surprisingly, the inspiration came from that collaboration. For those of you who are not really familiar with the Danish traditions or icons so to say, Post Danmark is the home of all our mailmen, with their red logo and the traditional uniforms.

Anyhow, we were thrilled by the Soulland collection. Silas Adler started out with the very classical Soulland-pieces. Dark blue jackets combined with a tee and a pair of canvas shorts. As the show went on, the volume was turned up. Seeing a white shirt with black and grey flower print made me regretting not being a boy (!) Later on he moved over to a tendency seen a lot at the SS12 shows, namely the print on print with the black and greyish flowers seen above. The next chapter of the show was pastels, cleverly layered in the minimalistic and clear-cut way finishing of with my favorite, the daring pinkish and greenish version of the flower shirt and shorts (not to confuse with some phoney Italian flower shirt). 

You must say that Soulland is sending a message to every guy in Copenhagen and every other fan out there : step up and dare yourself, not only playing with blossoming prints but also with pastels. And if you think it’s too much, there’s always the classical yet edgy styles to fall back on.

All right.. we will now begin to write about all the amazing shows we saw at CFW. One crazy week. 

The first ones we would like to review is the Finnish designer duo R/H. First look: grey leggins with fussy black fringe on the side, a hairband and blue-ish clogs. Sort of a mix between American highway chic and 70s hippie. Chunky clogs and functional shapes were matched with jungle pattern, rosarys, stripes and backpacks. Overall the collection was colorful, playful and very wearable. My faveourite thing about the show was the ones with the pattern on pattern look. Also the the headbands and the floor-length pieces gave me the fashion tingles. Visit R/H here.

PS// The visuals was definately also something that should be mentioned. Girls looking out at the audience with a very intence stare.
